08/03/2022 – About the Topic
Evolution and games go hand in hand, when our bellies are full and we feel a sense of safety, we seek out entertainment. August 3rd we look at The Next Evolution of Games through Augmented and Virtual Realities.
Whether you are a cooperative or player versus player, first or third person, board or video gamer, the market for game entertainment has snowballed with no sign of slowing down. We have long surpassed an Oregon Trail or Monopoly era. New-age gamers have even reached their prime and are re-designing old games that they grew up loving – cue Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. We have seen a variety of remakes and can only imagine what will be next, especially when considering the emerging games in virtual and augmented reality. We have seen the Pokemon Go craze, having strangers all over the world unite in their physical world ‘hunting’ (gathering) and more and more virtual reality games are expanding their capacity for multiplayer. We are seeing mixed reality games turning board games on their head or a fun collaboration of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. For those of us who game – any darn type of game – we are here for the ride!
Join us August 3rd 6pm CDT to learn from those on the cuff of The Next Evolution of Games.
