Space, the final frontier… We are thrilled to announce our upcoming event on the intersection of virtual reality, augmented reality, and space.
The complexity of space travel requires coordinated activity using sophisticated equipment, all operating together in an unforgiving environment. From spacecraft design and testing to astronaut training, AR and VR are providing valuable insights and immersive experiences that were once impossible. AR can assist engineers in spacecraft design by overlaying digital models onto physical prototypes. AR is also being used to visualize satellites in orbit and how they relate not just to the planet’s position, but also to other satellites in the growing low earth orbit industry. VR can be a valuable tool in astronaut training. By providing an immersive experience, it can simulate the conditions of space and allow astronauts to practice emergency procedures in a safe environment. AR & VR can also be used in outreach and education efforts to bring the wonders of space to people around the world. As we continue to explore space and push the boundaries of our understanding, the use of immersive technologies will only become more essential. Knowing immersive technologies and their applications can lead to new career opportunities and skill sets for those interested in the space industry.

For our Physical Venue, 1871 can be found in Suite 1212 on the 12th floor of theMART, which is located on the North side of the river between Wells and Orleans. For easy access, enter through the Orleans entrance on the west side of theMART and take those elevators to the 12th floor.
There is no longer a Covid-19 vaccination requirement.

The Virbela virtual environment resembles a physical space, so you will be able to talk with other attendees prior to the start of the presentations. To get to the Community Hall once in Virbela, you click the GO TO menu on the top left of your screen >> Pavilion >> The Next Evolution Hall. We suggest that you arrive no later than 6:00pm and we will get started promptly at 6:15. Please try to get familiar with the technology prior to the day of the meetup, as we will be unable to provide support during the event.
