About Me
10/06/2024: The Next Evolution of Health Science

Alejandro Castedo Echeverri, PhD, started his journey into XR early in 2012 with the advent of the Oculus DK1, in an era where VR devices transitioned from the research lab into the hands of developers. His first founded company was a VR studio startup in Italy, being one of the first worldwide studios to access early prototypes of the initial HTC Vive. He pioneered a breadth of spatial interactions with hand controllers, during an era where spatial interactions were completely unexplored. With a background in Theoretical Physics, he has always pushed for XR to be a tool for learning and discovery and believes XR will one day be as ubiquitous as videos are today. "Imagine learning about history or physics in a real-world holodeck, unencumbered by the limitations of your actual geography. But to get there we need tools and platforms that anyone can access, we need everyone to be a creator."
